>Okay here's my situation, I'd love to hear any and all opinions you may have:

>Previous to having the picasso I had a Video Toaster. I don't have serious use for a toaster anymore, but I miss having it around.
>So here's the question: would I be stupid to replace the Picasso-II with an IV-24? Currently the only ways I can output to video is with a mediocre vga-video converter hooked up to the back of the Picasso, and DCTV. I have scala mm300 too.
>Obviously the IV-24 and the tbc+s and scala would give me a sort of new toaster, with some features the toaster didn't have (although missing a lot more). Then of course I lose the support the Picasso has (for instance, I've really admired MainActor Bro
adcast for sometime and it supports the major graphics cards, but not the IV-24.)

Rather than replace your picasso with an IV-24 (I am assuming that this
is a money issue since the IV-24 goes in the video slot if I remeber
corectly) There is a board for the picasso called (again, if mem serves)
the pablo, which will do a conversion to video scan rates, price was
about $200. I cannot say anything wrt to how good it looks, I have no
direct experience, but it is another option to consider.
